We are taking a break in August, and there will be no rehearsals on August 2nd and August 9th.
We were hired to perform at a recent wedding at the Oregon Golf Club. Here are some comments from the bride's mother Leslie:
"I hired VanPort Jazz for my daughter's wedding. They were absolutely fantastic to work with! Their musicianship was excellent and their repertoire was very large with many genres to choose from. We had a special request for the couple's first dance ( Michael Buble 's Sway) and they were able to find a chart for it. There's nothing like dancing your "first dance" to a live big band! We can't thank them enough for making the wedding perfect!!"
We are pleased to announce that the members of the Vancouver Elks Lodge #823 have agreed to provide VanPort Jazz with rehearsal space in their main ballroom. The change in venue allows us to open our rehearsals to the public, so feel free to drop on by and listen. We reserve the right to stop and yell at the trombone section pretty much randomly, though.
The Vancouver Elks Lodge is at 11605 SE McGillivray Blvd, Vancouver WA 98683, close to 205/Mill Plain. They host many community events and functions, and are on the web at http://www.elks823.org.
